Have you ever wondered, “Why am I here?” or “What is God's purpose for my life?” The amazing truth is that God created each of us with a unique purpose, and one of the greatest ways we discover that purpose is through serving others.
Too often, we think purpose is something we find by looking inward. But Jesus showed us a different way. He said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45). When we follow His example and begin serving, God reveals gifts, passions, and opportunities we never knew we had.
Serving isn't just about filling a need; it's about becoming who God created you to be. When you volunteer in children's ministry, welcome guests, help with worship, support community outreach, or simply encourage someone who is struggling, God uses those moments to shape your character and strengthen your faith.
Many people discover their calling while serving. Moses was serving when God called him. David was faithfully tending sheep before becoming king. The disciples were serving alongside Jesus before they changed the world. Purpose often begins with a simple "yes" to God.
As young people, you don't have to wait until you're older to make a difference. God can use you right now. Your talents, your energy, your creativity, and your heart all matter in His Kingdom. Every act of service is an opportunity to impact someone's life and grow closer to God's plan for your own.
This week, ask yourself:
Where can I serve?
What gifts has God given me?
How can I use those gifts to help others?
What might God be teaching me through serving?
Remember: Your purpose isn't just about what you do—it's about who God is calling you to become. As you serve others, you'll discover that God is shaping you into a leader, a disciple, and a difference-maker.
This summer, our youth gathered with other Foursquare Church youth groups at Tanglewood Christian Camp in Lexington, Texas, for a life-changing week of faith, fellowship, and spiritual growth. There, they encountered the presence of Jesus in a powerful way, were filled with the Holy Spirit, and gained a renewed sense of purpose. Through worship and personal reflection, students overcame obstacles that had been holding them back and returned home encouraged, equipped, and ready to pursue God's plan for their lives. ✨🙏🏻🙌🏻
Young adults from across the region gathered in Angleton, Texas at Empowered Summit, for a purpose-filled experience alongside their Foursquare peers. Through worship, fellowship, and powerful encounters with God, lives were transformed, hearts were renewed, and many discovered a deeper sense of their calling and purpose.
